Incamedia
has been commissioned by the Welsh Assembly Government's
Department of Enterprise, Innovation and Networks to
carry out an options study for an ICT infrastructure
strategy for this significant development project, part of a
major regeneration masterplan for Newport City centre.
Working with Newport Unlimited, Newport's Urban Regeneration
Company, the study will examine
the
main infrastructure and service provision models
available, the likely roles of key players in its provision
and the feasibility of providing a carrier-neutral
communications infrastructure for the development.
It will also provide generic ICT
specifications for developers and architects to ensure
service delivery to properties and their distribution
within. [Newport’s Urban Regeneration Company -
Newport Unlimited - has been created to regenerate the City
and enable it to develop into a thriving centre for
business, leisure and living. Newport Unlimited is a
private company limited by guarantee founded by the Welsh
Assembly Government, Welsh Development Agency and Newport
City Council. With their financial support to invest in the
City, the company aims to promote the regeneration of
Newport, strengthen its economy and re-establish Newport's
regional role as a ‘driver for economic growth’.] |
